Nice idea from the Chinese government to send a vessel providing free medical care sailing to a few poor countries in Africa and Asia. Increasingly, people look at China in Africa as a form of neo-colonialism.
This initiative will improve China’s image throughout the world and act as a big f*ck you to the developed world for recent disputes (US trade/currency war, Nobel Peace Prize & Diaoyu Islands) — showing them that the world’s power distribution is multipolar. Also, this will serve as practice and training for potential use of this ship in supporting the PLA during war. After all, it’s developed by the Chinese military.
